Yes, for the U.S. Employer Company to be authorized to pay you, you need to get a U.S. social security number. With your U.S. work permit, you will obtain your U.S. social security number.

With my U.S. social security number, will I be entitled to a pension from the United States when I retire ?
Yes, you will receive a U.S. pension according to your contribution to the U.S. social security.

Do I get U.S. unemployment benefits if I get laid-off ?
Yes, and if you live in Canada, you will be paid U.S. unemployment benefits in Canada. There is a treaty between Canada and the United States concerning U.S. unemployment benefits paid to Canadians who have worked in the United States.
